The wonderful world of science

Welcome back bloggers,
Today I saw a very exciting and funny science show. The show was called: The crazy world  of science. You might have seen them too,
because they travel from school to school performing for kids.
The man doing all the experiments was called Richard, and the sound effects lady was called Robyn. There were lots of exciting parts of the show, but here are some facts about my 2 favourite bits (about water and bubbles).

Why is water so interesting?
Water (or H20) (or dihydrogen oxide) is made up from loads and loads of little atoms. Atoms are very small particles of an element.
Atoms join up to form things called molecules. A water molecule is made out of 3 atoms. 2 of them are Hydrogen atoms (H2), and the last atom is oxygen (0), put them together and you get H20 !

Why are bubbles so interesting?
Bubbles are made of 3 main parts: water, soap and air. This is
why they are the thinnest thing that the human eye can see! When lots of bubbles join together it is called foam. Here's another fact:
bubbles are very rarely popped by gravity. Here are some of the reasons why bubbles do get popped:
Dryness
Evaporation
The sun
Air turbulence

Another thing that I really liked about the show was his magic tricks.
The first one Richard did was get 3 metal rings. Then he made them connect together and pull apart without using his hands at all, it was super cool. The other one he did was when he kept randomly making red pom poms appear. They came out of his:
Pockets, hands, and even his mouth!!!!

I had loads of fun at the show and I really want to see it again, so until them I guess I could try some stuff by myself at home!
Before I go, here are some photos and videos:

Happy camper!

Welcome back bloggers!
Last week Myself and the rest of the Year 5 and 6's went on our big school camp!
We went up to Mt Ruapehu for some skiing/snowboarding fun!
I learnt how to snowboard and really enjoyed going down all the snow covered slopes, and back up on the chairlift! I got to stay in a room  with my friend Abby. (See down below for her blog!)
It was so much fun that I decided to make a slideshow about all my experiences. Here it is:

What were the challenges?
At camp Learning to snowboard was really tricky.
I  had to learn how to turn at the right time, how to stop
and how to go faster. While learning I had quite a few
Bumps and scrapes from falling over. It was still super
Fun though!

What was fun?
I loved going up on the chairlifts, and getting a little ride. I
also liked going on the magic carpet. (A magic carpet is like
a conveyor belt for humans!) Another thing that was really
fun was riding on the toboggans!

What was the benefit?
The biggest benefit from camp was learning how to snowboard.
It was a good EOTC (education outside the classroom), and I learnt some new skills! I can't wait to go back there another time so that I can practise my skills!
