Architect or blogger?

Welcome back bloggers
In class we have been doing geometry.
Tinker-cad is a good website to use when using shapes and measuring , which is what we had been doing.
We decided to design a playground because that is something that the juniors are running short of.
Here is my screen-castify about my design:
What is tinker-cad?
This is a website where you can design
3D buildings and places (like playgrounds).
I would recommend it for your geometry!

I found this work quite challenging, because we had to place everything in a very specific place and do lots of calculating so our playgrounds look real. I still really liked the challenge though.

How to speak animal

Hi blogging world!
Recently I have been looking at how animals communicate. I read a story about this topic and decided to make a response on the story. I enjoyed reading the story because it had lots of interesting facts about animals. Trying to think about things that I didn't like from  the story was quite challenging because The info that I found out was very cool. Here is my response:
Personal Response

Directions
During or after reading record your personal thoughts and questions under each heading.
Headings
Personal Response

QUESTION
  • How do dogs learn what humans are saying?
  • Can cats understand humans?
  • What is the animal that can understand most of human language

WAS SURPRISED ABOUT
  • That spiked iguanas could understand a paradise flycatchers warning call for danger in the jurrasic times

  • Bees communicate by ‘dancing’ to tell others where the nectar is
  •  Different species can understand eachother

LIKED
  • That animals can learn tricks via communication like jumping or playing dead

  •   How animals mark their territory by leaving their smell in the area
  • That deers communicate and tell other deers when their is danger to protect eachother

DIDN’T
LIKE
  • Birds might attack if you get to close to their nest

  • A bee will communicate by stinging when angry or hurt
  •  That humans can’t understand what animals are saying

WHAT
DO WE
NEED TO
CHANGE.
  • We need to spend more time in nature so that we can understand animals better

  • We need to listen to our animals more because they might be giving us an important message
  •  We should spend more time with our pets becasue that tels them that we love them

MADE ME THINK ABOUT
  • What animals might be saying

  • The sounds animals make
  •  Why do some animals not make a sound like a rabbit

DIDN’T UNDERSTAND

  •
I hope you like my work and feel free to comment!

Ako Hiko Tool-kits

Welcome back bloggers!
I have just been to the Ako Hiko Tool-kits!
I had so, so much fun! I went to 1 session called incredibox, and presented a slideshow about Making a quiz on a website called Kahoot, for another session.
What are student led tool-kits?
This is a big meeting, hosted by one of the schools in the Ako Hiko cluster.
6-24 students are chosen from each school to come and watch other children present about a tool on their Chromebooks. Some kids are chosen to present their own presentations.
There are also some challenge's that you do on the day. This year there was a coding challenge and a problem solving challenge.

What do you do in the challenges?
2-4 students are chosen per school to do each challenge. I was picked from our school to participate in a problem solving challenge!
We had to build a structure that was more than 10 cm tall and it had to hold a cup with 100 grams in it.
Our structure came second place, and was 20 cm Tall, and we got the award for the most creative.

At The tool-kit sessions I had to present a slideshow.
Like I said it was about Kahoot. I did it in front of a classroom of kids. If you would like to see it,
Here it is:
I had loads of ultra cool experiences at the tool-kits! The thing that I found most fun was when I got to do a Kahoot quiz with the classroom of kids that I was teaching. The thing that I found most challenging was getting everybody signed into the website (kahoot) because we had lots of troubles, but we managed to get through everything! I learnt, that there is that you can get bonus's on incredibox. I learnt this when I went to my first session. Before I presented I was feeling kind of nervous, but now I feel proud of myself!
Here are some photos as well:
