Fun with the leaders

Welcome back bloggers!
Because we are approaching the end of the year, out teacher let us post about anything that we have enjoyed over the year, and 1 thing I have really liked was being a leader.

What is 'Being a leader'
Leadership is a fun and exiting programme that we do at Waikowhai Primary.
At the end of each year around 12 year five students get picked to become leaders the next year. A leader wears a bright orange tee-shirt with their name on the back, so people know who they are, and people know they are leaders.

What do Leaders do?
Well, they are given a group of 3, and a certain day, for example Friday.
Then every morning they on their certain day they take a class out to play games on the field, court or in the hall. In term 1 me and my partners (*Joyce and Jerry) took the juniors, which was my favourite because they always listened. In term 2 we took the middle school, and in term 3 and 4 we had a mix of everybody!

How do people know when Their class gets to go and play games with the leaders?
That's actually pretty simple. On our day (Friday) 3 minutes before the bell rang for morning tea, we would go and tell the class what game we would play, and where we would play it, so they could join in if they wanted to.

Here are some pictures of the awesome 2017 team:
